We have an exciting slate of speakers lined up for our lectures at the Show!
Here are brief bios for both of them:
Dr. Steve Chamberlain is a specialist in the minerals of New York State.   He recently retired from a 30-year career as a university professor. In retirement he is serving as the Coordinator of the Center for Mineralogy at the New York State Museum. Current mineral research interests include pursuing new mineral species in NYS and studying organic origins of quartz. Curatorial activities have centered on the Ken Hollmann Collection, the Ron Waddell Collection, and the Oren Root Collection. Steve is also the Science Editor of The Hosta Journal of the American Hosta Society. He has produced and registered 48 new hosta cultivars and is currently involved is a wide-ranging study of hosta pollen using scanning electron microscopy.
Tom Rich is the Chemical Technology Manager for A. W. Chesterton in Groveland, Massachusetts, with degrees in aeronautical engineering, chemistry, chemical industrial engineering, geology, and business administration. He has his own business preparing and restoring fossils. He has collected trilobites, minerals, fossils, and mining antiques throughout the world. His trilobite collection alone is in excess of 500 specimens.
