ACTIVITIES

The Burlington Gem and Mineral Club is a member of the Eastern Federation of Mineralogical and Lapidary Societies (EFMLS) and American Federation of Mineralogical Societies (AFMS). Federation sponsored activities are described on their websites.

LEFT:
Grossular garnet with vesuvianite collected on a club trip to the Belvidere Mountain Quarry (inactive) at Lowell, Vermont.
RIGHT:
Massive green fluorite (10 cm) collected on the dumps of the Wise Mine in Westmoreland, New Hampshire. Because active mining for fluorite crystals is now underway, the mine is currently closed to collectors except by special permission.
LEFT:
Concretion collected in Waterbury, Vermont. These odd concretions sometimes elicit heated bidding at the annual members auction.
